Meet Our Founder
Clifford Stockton III is an education leader, strategist, and founder with a track record of driving system-level change across K–12 education, philanthropy, and community coalitions. His work spans classroom instruction, nonprofit leadership, public policy, and executive advisory—with a consistent focus on improving outcomes for students and communities.
Previously, Mr. Stockton served as Director of Strategy, Policy, and Community Coalitions at TNTP, where he led cross-sector education reform efforts in Birmingham, Salt Lake City, and Durham. He designed and implemented community-driven education blueprints, mobilized over 200 parent and community leaders, and secured more than $5 million in public and private investment. He also founded EmpowerED Birmingham—a coalition of 40+ civic leaders—securing $1.5 million to sustain long-term reform efforts.
Mr. Stockton served as Board Chair/President of Beacon College Preparatory Charter School in Memphis, where he led a $2.5 million facilities expansion and supported academic gains resulting in the highest possible state growth rating (TVAAS Level 5).
His earlier leadership includes Senior Program Director at ALLMemphis, coaching school leaders across 13+ schools, and Senior Project Manager & Chief of Staff at the Memphis Education Fund, where he helped deploy over $140 million in education investments across Shelby County.
